oh P.S . for the bottom one there is a corner piece if you wish to place that instead of the island counter or the other counter type let me see if recall right
in build mode-counters turn off auto counter hover the mouse over the counter of your choice and click on any of the color swatch and there you'll see corner counters and end counters rounded corners OH and the same for cabinets too

i know you still get that little overhang that will be from any of the island counter tops the ones you can add bar stools to the regular ones seem to be fine
hang I'll grab a screenshot from in game of one I'm making for you to see how they look and the difference
although it could be a bug, a design flaw or working as intended :/
