[BY DESIGN] Achievements for every save game instead of per Origin user

Are you using mods (Please answer with: Yes, Never, Removed): NO
Are you using custom content (as in clothing and objects) ? NO
What is your Operating System (XP, Vista, Win 7, Win 8, Win 8.1) ? Win 7
Do you have the download or DVD Version of the game ? Download

Although the Sim in my last game got the loner achievement for 24 hours without social interaction, my Sim in this game got it to.

I was told that the Achievements are player-based so every Origin account should only get each achievement once.

Seems like they get lost when you start a new game.

I don't think they will fix it anytime soon cause it's working as intended even if we don't like it.

    Try this:

    • Start your game with the achievements and load a family.
    • Go back to the main menu
    • Start a new game.

This way they should carry over to the next save game (unless they fixed this loop hole

  • I see. It seems in verison 1.8 (June 11), loading a save with the achievements will carry it across another save after going to the Main Menu. However, starting a new game or loading a newly created game still shows 0 points if you don't load a game with the unlocked achievements.

    Just tested it.
    - Load a savegame.
    - Check your achievements.
    - Exit to main menu.
    - Start a new game.
    - Make a new household or use exported one, doesn't matter.
    - Save that new game.
    - Exit to desktop and run Sims 4 again.
    - Load the most recent savegame (big triangle).
    - All of the achievements are there!

Basically, you can now keep your achievements in a new game - all you need is to load a previous save before starting a new one. This was previously impossible.

Thanks GothicSimmer for discovering this! It's not in the changelog but is a reason for me to return to the game.

Still think that's not on purpose but just an exploit on a problem that affects many errors: The game cache is not properly cleaned out when you only return to the main menu and not close the game down. Many bugs carry over from save game to save game this way.

  • Did some more testing and you're right crin.

So, you do get achievements visible in the new game per steps above. But if you delete all previous saves then save this newly loaded game - they're all gone.

It just looked great at the first glance. I'm kinda disappointed. ☹️

    Hi

I just wanted to ask if you know anything about them trying to fix this or if they aren't trying to?

I'm doing the start of an old save and then create a new one to get the ahievements to transfer at the moment but they save is still slower than one without them all so I would really like a fix to this. So I just wanted to ask and see if you know any more about it at the moment? 😃

None of these work.  I don't know when they stopped working but, as of today 9/20/2019 (as far as I know), they have completely "fixed" this loop hole. I tried both suggestions. Now there is definitely NO way of keeping achievements now.  It's definitely per save. You would have to start from scratch every time. I think I'm done with the sims. I WAS a big sims fan since sims 1. It's a shame.☹️
