[BY DESIGN] Age groups start with random days added from CAS/Gallery

I've been told that there is no true concept of "Twins" in CAS. There is the "Randomize Twin" button in Genetics, but that is only for physical features and not for birthdates. However, if your Sim siblings have different birthdates, you can fix that by manually aging them up with birthday cake(s) on the same day. They will then have the same birthday from then on out.
@SimQARobo Thank you for letting me know that. I am sorry to hear that there are no true twins as I made them twins because I was trying to avoid them having different ages since I'm not a fan of the random days being added in CAS, even though I know it's by design. I agree using a birthday cake is indeed an option, it does mean they will be older than I want them to be since I created them at the age I wanted, not the age below what I wanted them to be. Also, one pair are toddlers, so unfortunately there is no option to create them younger than toddlers. I can have the young adult twins take the youth potion from the room Euphorial Queen uploaded on the gallery, but as I mentioned, the other pair are toddlers, so that's not an option for them. Luckily neither of these were for a challenge household, since that's where having random days added can be a bigger problem. I would prefer not to put a big mod like MCCC in my game just to avoid having random days being added, but I may have to reconsider that if I want to avoid it. As I mentioned in a previous post, it would be great if there was a toggle, just like MCCC has, to either enable or disable the random days being added when creating sims, though I realize it might not be as simple to add as it is for a modder to add.
You can keep them as Toddlers and then age them up on the same day whenever you want them to age up.
That said, your feedback is noted 🙂 .
Toddlers are cute and adorable and do the sweetest things and I am okay with them only being toddlers for 7 days.
When toddlers were first added to the game myself and a couple others created toddler challenges.
The challenge requires a single Sim to raise 7 toddlers. It is a race against time to train all 7 and have their birthdays on the 7th day.
The only way that I can tell to keep Sims in the toddler stage (especially if they are to be same age twins) would be either to speed up the training/learning stage or play with aging off. Just adding my voice to the feedback ❤️
I'm ok with random days added. But I don't know if its bugged or something. I have used MCCC to change the days on teens and young adults to 200 resp 150. But lately, the teens I create in CAS always start with about 11 days left to age up and this force me to cheat to give them them points to buy the youth potion. And its pretty much the same with YA and Adults too. And adults have standard days, but always start with an almost full agebar. It pretty much destroy the game to only have a few simdays left until a sim becomes elder.
I also have sims I've downloaded from the gallery to add as townies who will auto age to the next life stage as soon as I unpause the game. I want the whole town to age normally, not like this. I've had to make them one stage younger in CAS knowing they will auto age as soon as I start playing. Which makes creating families pretty difficult.
I'm seeing the 1 or 2 days added thing is by design but what I am referring to is when you start a new game, create a new household or merge gallery sims to create a household and start playing. Right as you unpause the game, sims auto age up. That means they are at the max age when you first start playing.
For example the townies I just created is an adult that I want in my town, to be a potential love interest for my Sim. He isn't in a played house yet and as soon as I unpause the game he ages up to an elder. I end up deleting that household, going back and put him in my game again but turn off the aging. When I check his age days, for example says it's 100/100.
You're saying they said this is by design? I just want to make sure we understand.
@Aoife516 Mine isn't that bad, but almost. Though, I don't know how it is with non-played housholds, but most likely it is, as I have had to use MCCC to make Landgrab family the right age.
But as I said, I doubt that is by design. If it is, it's very bad as it destroys most of the gameplay. I usually only play teens and YA. But might try out playing an adult couple.
I will get back in the thread after I've done some testing. But will be a bit later. Need food. hehe
@crinrictI have. And there is a differance in adding random days and giving sims almost full lifebar every time. And I had a YA and an A sim in the same household that had the same birthday bc they both had almost full lifebar, causing them to have same amount days left. I didn't care about the adult becoming elder as he was only their for a background story.
And the random age by design was to make it so they dont have same birthday.
@Nekoboy69@Aoife516 What you guys are describing sounds like a bug, but I'm just not able to reproduce, I'm not seeing any close-to-full age bars.
I started a New Game, created 4 Teens and 4 Adults in CAS, went into the Options to change the Sim Lifespan to Normal, then placed the household down onto the Sandtrap Flat in Oasis Springs. When I got into Live Mode every Sim's age bar was pretty low. The most full I saw was a teenager with 12 days remaining til age up. I've repeated this process a few times now and I always see the same.
I've also tried adding a new Sim to an existing household and leaving that household as unplayed. So like, I added an Adult to the Pancakes household, then went back to the household I was playing and had a Sim visit the Pancakes, and I'm not seeing the Adult immediately age up.
I've also downloaded a random Teen from the Gallery, placed them on a random lot, and had one of my Sims go visit the Teen, and yeah he's not aging up.
Could the issue you're seeing possibly be related to Mods? If you move your entire Mods folder to your Desktop and restart your game, do you still see it occurring? Or how about if you move your entire TS4 folder? If that doesn't do the trick, could you possibly share a video or save file? Thanks for the help! https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/INFORMATION-How-to-Send-User-Files-to-The-Sims-4-Team/m-p/6065302
Edited to add: If you're able to reproduce this issue without mods, could you possibly file a new AHQ Report? Maybe something called "Sims age up immediately when coming out of CAS" or something like that. Thanks so much!
@SimGuruNickI tried it out. Both with and without mods. It seems that the Adult and YA sims always start with 22 - 24 days left on normal age post-patch. And the reason it seems to be almost full bar when playing with mods, is that the "random age" don't seem to registrate the age settings in MCCC. I don't know if this is something DP needs to fix in MCCC or if its something EA needs to fix. Or is it something I can fix within the settings of the game?
With mods the bars look like this. This is in the same household. Darnell and Neil are supposed to be halfbrothers but the random age made them twinbrothers.
@SimGuruNick I tried your suggestions and seem to be having the same age issue as @Nekoboy69 when I try playing a new save and no mods.
I can only reproduce the "sims age up immediately from CAS" with 1 household right now. Can a single household be bugged like that? Even when switching their ages, the age bar stays at max. I did have it with with a few other sims but they are currently showing 12 days left or 2 days left until age up.
@Aoife516 As asked above by Nick, could you create a new thread for this ?
