[BY DESIGN] Dumpster not having all options availble

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.63.134.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Try with different save files
What happens when the bug occurs? I try to go dumpster diving on one of my save files I have all the options for dumpster diving, dive for meals, dive for deals, sort out recyclables, sort out compostables, nap in dumpster, empty trash and dive for thrills. All of which I love. However I started another save file and I only have four of the options, dive for deals, dive for meals, nap and woohoo. I’ve tried everything I can think of but I can’t get those other options to come up.
What do you expect to see? I expect to see all the options available
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

Yeah it does, other than the one sim which I started the new save as, but then when I started another new save it even does it with them too.

@kirstyfoo3000 My options are limited like that if the dumpster is empty. Dive for Deals and Meals are greyed out as well though saying the dumpster is empty.

Yeah I get you, on my ‘working save’ I have all the options but there just greyed out if it’s empty, but on every other one there’s just those four options just greyed out if there empty or normal, but I never ever see the ‘sort through recyclables or sort through compostables’ even if it’s full I only get those four options. I thought it might be to do with whatever neighbourhood plan was in place or traits but I literally recreated a sim with the exact same traits, plans, footprint and it just never comes up, so frustrating thanks for your help😊

@kirstyfoo3000 Was the other in the civil career ?

Dive for thrills sounds like something you'd need a mood or trait for.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? By clicking on the dumpster
What happens when the bug occurs? Sort through recyclables or compostable does not show in the pie menu as an option when clicking on the dumpster.
What do you expect to see? All options available.

This is by design I believe. Try changing the lot you are using by adding the 'Reduce and Recycle' lot trait to it. You should see those options show up on nearby dumpsters and the trash will start piling up.

There's a new lot trait, think its called reduce and recycle. I think only the lots with that trait have the two extra options for sort out recyclables and compostables. The lot trait description says "This lot generates compostable and recyclable trash, and outdoor cans are no longer bottomless. Actively managing trash output is a must!" In my game, only lots with this trait have these two extra features.

This might be the solution! I posted on The Sims 4 forums and one simmer told me to make sure to have the reuse/reduce and recycle lot trait and it worked. However I'm not sure if this was the intended design - that the lot must have that trait for all options to show- or if this is a glitch and all options should show regardless of having that lot trait. Hope this helps others. Also hope we get clarification on it!

I believe you need either the freegan trait for your sim or the recycle trait for your sim for that option. Its a sim trait option not a lot trait option.
