[BY DESIGN] [IL] Merfolks never losing hydration if "Forever fresh"

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? idk
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Island Living
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Just buy the Forever fresh perk from the rewards store and play as a merfolk
What happens when the bug occurs? Forever fresh makes a sim no longer lose hygiene, but it also locks to max the hydration of merfolk since that's the need that got replaced
What do you expect to see? Hydration going down over time instead of keeping at 100%
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

Merfolk have their hydration permanently to max if they purchase the perk "Forever fresh"

I mean I get it, they're fishes and by staying fresh they don't go dry.

But still, I'm sure this is not what the devs intended, they just replaced the need for merfolk but almost only by name, it's still bound by hygiene-related perks and rewards.

  • @OoZekh🤭, while maybe not the answer you were hoping for, from my very recent perusing through the tunings for mermaids, the mermaid 'hydration' *IS* actually Hygiene, and not a unique or other kind of needs decay. Extrapolating from that, and thinking about your query, I would venture to say that it is actually truly by design with the 'Forever Fresh' perk that mermaids never need hydration... But then again, I may be wrong with everything that I read in the tunings... o_0

    Cheers.

@minimonsterscott Well I assumed the same thing and that's why I thought forever fresh was involved, I'm a dev myself and this kind of renaming is actually the easy way to make that feature working. Except when we're dealing with loopholes like this, that's something that require adjustment.
  • @crinrictOoZekh🤭 To be honest that's ALMOST an awesome loophole! Only thing is it takes away from the whole fun and point of being a mermaid IMO.

On a side note I find it hilarious that when a mermaids bladder fails they can just go mermaid around in the ocean and it fixes the problem instantly. :P

.... at least I find it funny....
