I also went back to check, and it appears that this interaction (Share Big News) has always looked like this. Here's a screenshot from the October 1st, 2014 patch.
i have noticed this too.. my sim's eyes look way to wide when they're sad. now they look terrified than being sad :\ also i don't know if it's just me but the speed for some specific walkstyles seems to be changed... when the sim is tired/sad/have sluggish walkstyle their walk speed is faster than usual.. and when they need to pee their walk speed is slower than usual.. i did create a new game and remove my mods folder..

I'm not sure if my problem has to do with the patch, I've been seeing this in my game for a while. No matter the trait (like or dislike children or family life etc.), all my male Sims always pull this face when the females are sharing big news. It's quite frustrating, it seems no one in my game likes babies. 😕
