[BY DESIGN] Writing Songs takes a long time

I'm hoping this is a bug or an oversight.

Writing a song takes a very very long time.  I usually had to work at it over 2-3 days.  Then you're only allowed to license one song per week, per instrument.

With book writing, I can knock one out on my level 4 writer (Writing Career) in just a few hours and, so far, I've been able to publish all 9 that I've written to date.

This seems like a huge inequality.  Writing a song should take a great deal less time than writing a book and why limit it to one per week per instrument?

It just doesn't make sense to me.

    This continues to be an issue.  If you wanted to play a sim as a songwriter, there's no possible way they could support themselves (unlike someone writing books without the career).

    This really needs to be addressed and has been around since launch.

    My sim has been trying to finish a song on the piano for what seems like forever, and it won't finish! I keep clicking "resume" from inventory, but it will just reset it's progress and just never be done. Help!

    do you go traveling in between ? If so, that's a known issue and I'll merge.

    It should not be happening if you don't leave the lot in between.

    I do not leave the lot at all, he just tries to write it for an entire day and it will not finish!!

    Ah, sorry mixup.

    It does take a very long time to write a song.

    Does it progress at all ?

    I'll test this though

    It's 2019 now, and this 'error' is still happening to my sims! Is there a way to work around it, or did I miss an update or something?

    @gjbbuitelaar Its by design that it takes long as the title says. There might be mods that speed it up

    If it doesn't move at all, please make a new thread
