I have a family with no vampires whatsoever and have this issue constantly. I tried turning auto aging on/off, I restarted, I removed my mods folder. I feel like I have tried everything to try and fix this and it still is not working. It only just started happening too as I had a previous birthday a couple of days previously, with the same save file. I would love a solution to this issue.

In typical sims fashion, as soon as I made this post, I went to play a different save game, before returning to my save game with the issue I had outlined, only to find the issue no longer a problem.

I don't see that any further advice was given for a while so I thought I'd share this. I too have come across this issue (but I play on PS4), however, I have resolved the issue! The sentence, "There is no sim with a birthday in this household today" is actually stating there is no sim IN the household with a birthday. For example, Sim mom was home while the sim kids were at school, it wouldn't let me add a birthday party to the calendar for my oldest. But once she returned from school IT WORKED! This means in order to schedule a birthday party for a specific sim, he or she must be present (in the house, not away). I hope this works for everyone else.
