Cats howl for food when food bowl is full - cats not hunting mice

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? 1. Create or adopt a cat and purchase the petmate programmatic pet feeder and the litter-laser self cleaning litter box. 2. Live in the TLC apt in City Living or purchase a mouse hole for other lots
What happens when the bug occurs? 1. The cat has a self cleaning litter box, but cries that his litter is dirty and has a self filling food bowl, but cries that his bowl is empty. 2. The mice comes out and the cats ignore them. I have tried many different combinations of traits and the cat still ignores the rats. However, the sims will wake up out of their sleep and react to the mice/rats.
What do you expect to see? 1. I expect the cat to eat from the food bowl when it is hungry and to use the litter box when it needs to go. When those items are present on the lot the programming should reflect that and the pet should not be crying incessantly for his litter to be cleaned and food bowl to be filled. 2. I expect the cat to hunt and kill the mice. That's why I created the cat. 3. I also expect non-clingy cats to not howl and cry all day. In real life I have two cats and the cats do not howl and cry all day, especially when they are speutered.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No
I just purchased Cats & Dogs EP a few days before the last patch update and did not add pets to my sims households until after the patch. I have only been playing cats. The cat(s) do not hunt the mice in the TLC apt nor in the house in Oasis Springs where I added the mouse hole.
The cat also howls for food when he has an auto food bowl and howls for his litter box to be cleaned, although he has an auto litter box cleaner. The programming needs to deactivate that response in the cat when a lot has those items. It is kinda stupid to see a cat howling next to a full food bowl saying that it is empty.
BTW, I launch the game through Origin, so it won't let me play it unless I download and install the latest patch.
