Certain objects do not emit emotional aura

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? Deutsch
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.75.125.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Extensions: all except Snowy Escape, Eco Lifestyle and Island living(?) Game packs: all but the Star Wars one Stuff packs: Tiny Houses, the laundry pack and the one that adds hot tubs (I don't know the English names, sorry)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? A) Place an object which can emit a focused aura and activate it, then get your Sim near the object. The plumbob lamp of the Sims 3 "Into the Future" dlc still works. B) Place a crystal and activate its aura (energized)
What happens when the bug occurs? Pictures from the telescope/microscope or eg the lamp you unlock early in the science career ("flying saucer table lamp") don't emit a focused aura when activated. Crystals don't give out an energized aura despite of their tooltips saying they would. My sims do not get the moodlet from being near an aura like they used to last week.
What do you expect to see? I expect my sims to get a moodlet from being near an object with activated emotional aura.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. The problem occured after installing the latest patch a few days ago which added the likes and dislikes system.

I created a "clean" game folder by renaming/removing the "Sims 4" folder so the game had to create a new one which did not have cc or mods in it at all but the problem occured anyway.

On the first screenshot you can see that the picture's aura is already activated (it has the option to deactivate) but my sim does not get the moodlet. In the second one I activated the aura of that chart object and that one does give the moodlet.

Edit: It seems like only some of the objects are bugged. However the telescope/microscope pictures still don't work, as well as the lamp from the science career.
Edit: The element objects/cubes all seem to work as well, but the pictures still don't.

Sorry for the late reply, I haven't been home all week till today.
I just tried placing more crystals instead of just one and it actually created the energized decor moodlet. When I removed two out of the three crystals the moodlet disappeared again. However I would not declare this as a solution, because it would only be a work around of the bug. Either way thank you for pointing that out! At least this is an easy way to get around the bug 🙂

  • Hello Crin! Sorry for replying so late. I noticed the difference after the update because I played the same save file as the night before. One of the telescope pictures is placed on the wall in my Sim's room and prior to the update my Sim got focused with the exact same interior. (Being 1 telescope picture as the only aura emitting object)

If it works with multiples of the object, it is working as intended. Each object has a different emotional aura score. The higher the score, the less of the object is needed to activate the aurora.
