I'm getting the same 'moved to household inventory' message too.
I am able to place them in the garden patches from build & buy mode, and thankfully they still grow as normal, but it is very annoying that I have to place them from my household inventory.

Hi I have mine outside and I don't have any mods or cc. I should have mentioned that I'm playing on xbox one. 😁

Have any of You guys placed the garden patches on top of each other, or against something else with the "moveobjects" cheat, by any chance? Just played around now, and got the message after placing two patches overlapping, and trying to plant on both garden patches.

I've done the usual recommendations regarding testing the issue. I've tested with and without mods/CC (I only use NPCC) and I've also tested on an old save and a clean save. I've made sure cheats are disabled, and that move objects is turned off - the six garden patches were placed down without move objects on.
In screenshot one, this is what the plot of land looks like. I've clicked on the garden patches (move objects is disabled) and the garden patches can fit next to each other without issue. In screenshot two, I attempted to layer the garden patches slightly, but was unable to do so. My Sims have no issue routing in and around the garden patches. It's worth noting that I only started getting this issue recently (the day before the hotfix) and up until then, I had no issues planting oversized seeds in this exact same plot layout.
Sometimes it works just fine, other times I get the message about it being added to my household inventory.
