  • Pretty sure there is no variety of mushroom called "wild mushroom"? I believe "wild" simply refers to any of the types of mushrooms - including verdant - when found "in the wild" (ie off lot around the world) rather than planted. So verdant mushrooms in the countryside will be wild but when planted on your lot will not be. Same with nightly mushrooms, lovely mushrooms, and all the rest.

@PipMenace There absolutely is a wild mushroom. I planted four and got verdant mushrooms instead. It's on the wiki in gardening.
  • @Uigenna I see that too, but I see a weird mix with verdant and wild mushrooms. This is what happens for me:

    • I plant both verdant and wild mushrooms.
    • The plants in my garden are both named verdant mushroom.
    • If I harvest from both verdant mushroom plants, I only get wild mushrooms out of it.

    Took some screenshots:

Before planting you can see the one in the back is the verdant mushroom (next to the red book), the one in the front is the wild mushroom (next to the black book).

After planting they are both called verdant mushroom.

After harvest I only have wild mushrooms in my inventory.

As you can see from the quality of the mushrooms, I tried this several times over the course of several in-game weeks. Always the same!

Ok, so I double-checked and you DO get both wild and verdant mushrooms from those plants, it only sorts them both into the same stack. When you open the stack and go with your mouse over the single mushrooms, you will see that they are either wild or verdant mushrooms.

I am having this issue. I've been playing vanilla since Growing Together released, made sure to clear the cache after removing mods, and I'm playing in a save that was created after all of this. Has anyone found a fix for this yet?

  • I have this same issue. One thing that I am seeing is these 'wild mushrooms' in my inventory are useless for anything but dragging in my inventory to sell or eating them from the inventory. I am unable to use them for fizzing which I have seen everything else being able to be used for. I am not seeing a mix of 'wild and verdant' mushrooms in the stack.

  • This happened to me too. I managed to work around it by buying a verdant mushroom from the garden stall in Henford on Bagley and planting it on my home lot, then harvesting them! Hope this helps anyone else who has this issue.
