Do you remember what time you hired him ? Evening ? There was an issue with some other NPC if you hired them in the evening, it took a few days for them to start working properly.
Is all good now ?
My butler doesn't sleep at all. He doesn't eat or bathe either. And, with him being awake all night, my game clock runs at regular speed when the entire house should be asleep. It's annoying ☹️

I'm still having all sorts of butler problems, sadly =( ... although one of them eventually did go to sleep. However, he slept for nearly 2 days.. which I didn't understand.
The bigger problem seems to be that no matter what household I play, *all* the butlers are the same person. Also, related to this issue, when a butler is hired, the maid changes into someone else completely.
I sure hope EA gets the kinks worked out soon!
