I have had the same issue but now this time, the utensils get stuck in my sims hand and she walked off with the fork while heading to school. I also have issues with sims not washing the dishes. Picking it up and placing it back down.

I've had similar problems, and it's most noticeable when trying to tend bar/make drinks. You try and get your sim to talk to a few people so they can then make drinks for the group, but they seem to only be able to talk to one at a time. Sometimes all actions are cancelled and all the guests suddenly get up from their bar stools and stand in front of the bar. This is a nightmare when trying to throw a party.

I know this is a vague bug report but I do hope the developers look into making these interactions smoother, as it's the bread and butter of playing Sims.
