When I go into CAS, I started creating my sim, then for some reason I can only use the right-click rotate mouse cursor. This means if I try and click a hairstyle, the cursor will exit the hairstyles. I am unable to use my cursor from then on and have to exit the game. I have a solution that works for me so it might work for you guys too all you need Is a Windows button on your keyboard. While stuck it that mode it's still possible to click on the body of the sim to open the clothing panel, what to do is click and open the panel and bring the mouse back onto the Sim , click and hold the left click down and quickly press the Windows button. Go back onto your desktop and hold down left click on an empty part of your screen and press the Windows button once more to go back into the game. Let go of the click then try to click freely. Try multiple times. Hope this helped.- Ece

@crinrict it would not let me even exit because it was stuck. I hit ESC to bring up the menu, and it was still stuck in rotation mode. I had to go to Task Manager and do an End Task--lost all my progress because I couldn't save.

using windows 7 on an Asus U57A I have tried using the laptop touchpad, a Wacom mouse, and a Bamboo Tablet with a tablet penI have tried Fullscreen, Windowed fullscreen, and windowedWhen I first enter CAS everything works properly then after about 2-5 minutes the cursor only right clicks on things and I can no longer select anything and get stuck only being able to rotate my sim. Am starting to get really frustrated after trying all of the suggestions and nothing working. I had this same problem with the CAS demo the first few times I tried it, and thought that the problem would be fixed with the actual game. I have tried repairing the game through Origin, as well as uninstalling the demo. Nothing works. Everytime I try something new I end up having to open the task manager just to exit the game. I have been an avid Sims fan since the first one, as well as SimsCity. I have been waiting for the Sims 4 to come out since they first announced and am now starting to wonder if it was a waste of my money..

I also have tried all mentioned options (uninstalling, windowed mode etc.) but the cursor still becomes the camera and the game can't be saved and the Sim is lost.Is any action being taken on this subject, or should I go back to the store to tell them it's broken?

Hey all,Was wondering if someone had a solution to my problem? It lets me go onto make a sim and lets me use it for a couple of minutes, then all of a sudden the camera icon will appear instead of a mouse. It lets me rotate on the sim but thats all it'll let me do. I can't even exit out of the make a sim, I have to open my task manager on my computer to then end the game. I've no idea how to fix this, I did message EA weeks ago and am still waiting for a reply ☹️Please help!Thank-you

My cursor is stuck in rotating mode when editing outfits for child in CAS.

@missnika04 Just there ? Can you click on anything and does it go away when you switch to somewhere else ?

I had the same problem with the demo, and I actually haven't been able to get the whole way through CAS without it doing this since launch. Basically, the cursor becomes the rotating cursor, and I cannot select any objects, outfits, or menus. I can still alter my sim by dragging their body, that doesn't seem to be affected, it is just anything that does not include altering the sim or turning it round.

Adding the thread and no, I don't know what will get fixed when. Might even be an issue with your specific setup.

Hey, I have the same problem. I had it yesterday as well but I have to use task manager to shut down and couldnt save and it has happened again today? I don't know what to do because I don't want to lose my content?
