I tried trashing the folder and then reloaded Origin, no luck. I uninstalled and restarted my computer and trashed all Sims files (putting my saves elsewhere) and reinstalled, still no luck. I'm not sure what else to try.

First I just did DHD and that didn’t work. So then I did the whole game and it didn’t work either.

Odd that it's still happening after a new install as it's normally a corrupted install causing it.
Have you tried a repair since reinstalling?
Did you try a new clean Sims 4 folder with none of your previous saves/mods etc? A whole new folder, not just removing various files/folders.
What patch level is your game at?
Where is the game installed to?

When I uninstalled the second time I deleted all the folders but I did keep my save folder. I didn't try it again before I put the saves back.
I'm repairing the game now. Which did not work.
I have everything saved in my Applications and then in my Documents through iCloud. The Electronic Arts folder says "Waiting to Upload" underneath it, but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.
I'm not sure how to find the patch level of the game.
