I made a new account, but Origin was still downloaded on it and so was Sims. I had the same issue.

Yes, I wanted to check if anything in your existing user account could be causing the issue so testing on the existing installation in a clean user account tests this. It's unlikely but worth checking.
If you've completely uninstalled Origin and the game then reinstalled and played a new Sims 4 folder, as if you've never had the game on your Mac before, I have no idea what may be causing it. It's very odd.
If you uninstall and reinstall again, could you leave out DHD and test the game to see if it's linked to only that pack?
Also, which specific model Mac do you have (About This Mac info)? I haven't come across any GPU specific issues causing this but would be good to try and figure out why it's happening.
