[DU] Can't join Secret Society

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Trying to join the secret society
What happens when the bug occurs? Society members show up at played lot in plain clothes and are unselectable for interaction.
What do you expect to see? Society members show up at played lot in robes and masks, and some sort of interaction occurs
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure
I'm having issues with DU. My sim is living off campus but still in Brightchester. She has made the right offering and society members are showing up. I can tell by the nametags over their heads. They are in plain clothes and are not selectable for interaction.
