[ECO] Computer Security Settings not showing up (Computer found in dumpster ?)

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.103.315.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Everything
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Click on computer and look for security settings
What happens when the bug occurs? All the time
What do you expect to see? No option for the security settings to block non household members to use computer
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Happened once I installed the Rentals pack.

So Ever since I've downloaded the newest Rentals pack, I can no longer find the computer security settings option to disallow non household members from using my pc. Has this happened to anyone else? Also can't seem to repair my own computer now (All in one powerful pc)

(I also can't seem to mail items off to buyers from plopsy too)

    I hit me too on this one. 

    None of my computers have security available either.
    But mine, has mod files installed currently. 
    OP, are you sure when you took the mods out the cache was removed / deleted?

    I just did further testing with purchased versions of the laptop:

    Save with issue - modded 

    No upgrades: Securable
    After Energy-Efficient Device upgrade: Securable
    After ECC RAM upgrade: Securable

     


    Save with issue - unmodded, caches cleared

    No upgrades: Securable
    After Energy-Efficient Device upgrade: Securable
    After ECC RAM upgrade: Securable

     


    Fresh save - unmodded, caches cleared

    No upgrades: Securable
    After Energy-Efficient Device upgrade: Securable
    After ECC RAM upgrade: Securable


    So the catalogue version seems to be fine.

    The dumpster laptop still has the issue though, even with no mods and caches cleared.

    This might be an [EL] dumpster computer bug, rather than a [SV] laptop specific one.

    I think this is an issue with finding it in the dumpster. The game doesn't register the item as being owned by your sim. I believe if you add the item to your household inventory and then take it back out it'll fix the issue.
