[ECO] Toilet keeps catching fire (Roommate autonomously upgrades)

What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All except Cool Kitchen, Batu and Paranormal
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? When Sims use toilet.
What happens when the bug occurs? Toilet catches on fire.
What do you expect to see? Sims use toilet and catch on fire as well as the toilet catches fire.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made.
I've heard it's because of EL and upgrading the toilets parts, which my roommate keeps upgrading autonomously - how do I make this stop? Started happening once I got roommmates. Extremely annoying, I've already had 3 toilet fires within an hour of gameplay.

Oh boy.
I can see three possible options.
1. You say you use mods. You can use MCCC to forbid upgrading the toilet.
2. Kick out the roommate. (Alas. You probably need the money.)
3. Buy an insect farm and regularly clean out the toilet to feed the compost to the insects.
(#3 is the EL intended solution.)
