Elder sims sometimes go back to adulthood

Twice in my games now I've had a sim age up to elder naturally, and when I plan their clothes or take them to another lot, suddenly they are an adult again and about three days away from aging up to elder??? I have the game on short lifespans, and don't have any mods which would affect lifespans.

The second time this happened, my elder sim had gone to a public lot, gone back to adult age, and the game would not let me save because it insisted that someone was aging up. But the sim had gone back to three days away from elder? And no other sims in the family were aging up. I had to quit the game without saving and lost a lot of progress. 😕mileysad:

  • But I take it you do use mods even if it's not one affecting aging ?

Probably a bit hard to test without though

Yes, I use about 20 mods. Haven't tried uninstalling any, as I'm not sure how easily the bug can be reproduced - in my households there are usually two sims growing to elders at the same time, and the glitch only seems to affect one. As I said, most of my mods don't seem to have anything to do with aging or family at all, such as faster showering/gardening/eating, stuff breaks far less easily, put away books etc, and I have all of them updated to their most recent. Some haven't been updated since the most recent EA patch, but I think the problem started before the patch, can't be sure though, apologies.

Mods it could potentially be caused by:

    • Babies For Everyone - AgonistAgent
    • More Traits (version 2) - Embyr311
    • Quadruplets/Quintuplets - pekesims
    • Homeless Households Revamp - Shimrod101
    • Evict Ghost Households - scumbumbo

Hope that's helpful 🙂 I can always list my other mods if you wish.

The problem with this is if you are using mods, it could be any of them causing issues, even if they are updated.

I'm not saying, this issue IS cause by a mod but if you are using this many, it could be a conflict or one has a bug on it's own. So unless you can reproduce this bug on a vanilla game, you can't be sure it's mod or game related. It's not something I have seen widely reported.

As you can see on my compiled lists, there are a LOT of bug reported, so I'm trying to filter out the ones that are mod related so we don't chase EA on a wild goose chase as they have enough to do as it is.

I'll be keeping this thread in my mind if someone else is coming along and reports this but for now, I won't add it to the list.

    Thanks for reporting anyways.

Totally okay with this not getting added to the list, as I understand the difficulty in defining whether it's a mod or just the game causing the problem. Just thought I'd add - I did try to recreate the problem (to see if deleting a certain mod would help) but it didn't happen. Instead, without any sim aging up, the game got stuck and wouldn't save again, telling me that a sim was aging up as soon as I entered my save? Yet no sim was aging up? I was very confused, so had to quit without saving again.

I deleted the Homeless Households Revamp mod (as I hadn't found it helpful anyway) and tried the quickest fix I could think of; repaired the game in my Origin account, and - fingers crossed - haven't experienced either problem again? It'll probably come back, but it's behaved so far at least, just in case anyone else comes across this issue too, there may be a temporary fix.
