Error Code 132:<Various Numbers>, Corrupt Ladders

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.104.58.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? This is only reproducible on lots that already have corrupted ladders. ---- Try to load a lot that has corrupt ladders (no idea how they corrupt
What happens when the bug occurs? Instead of the lot loading you will be booted back to to the map and get an error code 132: There's also a lastException file being created that points towards a ladder being the problem.
What do you expect to see? No error code and the household to load.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

To find out if you have this or another 132, check the Last Exception file found in documents. Open it with a text editor and check if it says anything about ladders. If it does, this is your problem.

For Mod users or people not afraid to try a mod solution.

  1. Download TwistedMexis AllCheasts Mod. This mod will allow you to use all game cheats that have been disabled by EA. If you use MC Command Center or other mods that do the same, you won't need this. For convienence I also recommend Better Cheat Console which allows you to copy/paste from the cheat console.
  2. Backup your save game and load that backup.
  3. Load your game with Load instead of Resume.
  4. Open the lot in build mode from the map
  5. Open the cheat console and type: objects.list adder (this is not a typo)
  6. You will see list of ladders. Next to the object you will see an ID (0x0...).
  7. Start with the top one and delete all the ladders with the cheat: objects.destroy <ID>.  Test after every ladder if it starts loading. If there's lots of ladders you can also delete them in groups.
  8. Once you found the ladder(s) that are causing the issue, you can either just leave them all out and go back to playing or you can load your current game and delete just the ladder that was giving issues. The ID stays the same so you can just use the destroy cheat (AllCheat still necessary)

For People on Console/Not wanting to use mods

I'm afraid I don't have a solution. You can try to just manually delete all the ladders on your lot but sometimes that causes issues.

    Again, thanks for looking into it!

    Weird thing is that i don't have any ladders in the build, a lot of staircases though! 
    I managed to restore the progress on the older version without any issues which is even more weird - everything works fine on the version i have now, I just really want to know what made the build create errors when trying to enter live mode on the previous version.

    If theres nothing else pointing to the issue, i guess it will stay an unsolved mystery, lol

    @SatiSim you said you were using tool. did you place any objects in the out-of-bounds areas ?

    If you upload the house to the library and place it on a different lot, does it also error out ?

    Do we have a more general bug report on this because I feel we need one?
    I have a Very similar problem, with a different error code (mine is 132:3d75644b:e4596f1a) and better exceptions mod is able to tell that it has something to do with ladders. I've been working on a large-ish build that has become unaccessible in live mode (as in, I can access it in build mode only but when I try to load the family that I moved there it won't load and I get the error). I have several ladders on the lot, some of them are ocean ladders since it's a lot in Sulani where I'm building. (and yeah I have already established that it's not my mods, it's that one lot. Another lot in the same neighbourhood loads just fine )

    @siirysiir usually for error code the number matters but I'm unsure for 132. It's usually some object causing an error on the lot

    Did you try deleting all the ladders one by one to find out which one it is ?

    @crinrict I didn't try one by one, but it wouldn't load even if I deleted ALL the ladders (I even threw in some stairs for the same price!).
    I got 2 new error codes:
    132:4b22762b:ba8128
    132:7b4d70e8:60e42291
    and I noticed that I get a fresh new error code after every time I have relaunched the game. Meaning that if I continued regardless of the error and tried to load the same lot again I would always get the same error code.
    Better exceptions got this to say about it: "Exception in <function buildbuy_session_end at 0x00007FF4CB003050>, args: (1072712611429024854,), kwargs: {} RuntimeError('Unable to acquire ladder data for objID 1097485229444892399.') (RuntimeError: Unable to acquire ladder data for objID 1097485229444892399.) "
    I wasn't able to find an object with that ID in Sims 4 Studio but I'm not very experienced in using it (I don't make cc). But maybe if there's a way to find out what that object is, I could then delete it and try if the lot loads after that.

    Also something new:
    I was able to load the build if I did the following: 1) bulldozed the lot 2) moved in a family 3) entered build mode and loaded my lot from gallery 4) went to live mode. However if I travelled and tried to return to the lot, obviously it would not load again.

    @siirysiir Are you using allcheats ? If so, try if objects.destroy 0x1097485229444892399 does anything

    Put testingcheats first.

    @crinrictOh, that's a new one for me! After a quick googling I'm assuming you mean TwistedMexi's allcheats? I'll give it a try right away!

    EDIT: one hour later..

    Nope. I installed the mod and used the command you suggested. (And yes, remembered testingcheats, script mods are enabled etc.) It was kinda hard to find information about this mod (didn't find any usage guide other than just to enable testingcheats) but I understood that it would print stuff on the console whether the cheat you used succeeded or not.. But I got nothing so I have to assume it couldn't remove that item since I still kept getting the same error (not sure if it's really important at this point what the exact error code is, since it's regenerated after each launch but always starts with 132: ).

    We've been guessing around with my SO (we're a household of programmers) that it might be some object that has been removed at some point but not perfectly. Like some of the data persists? And it ruins the whole build. I'm assuming this same thing has happened to other builders too, Sati's error code started with 132 as well. Sometimes I wish I was in the dev team, I just really, really want to get this build working.. :/

    @siirysiir Do the other lots in the same neighborhood work ?

    The mod just basically enables all dev cheats that are usually disabled. objects.destroy destroys an object if you know the ID of the object. Was hoping that the number you had there showing in BE would be the number of the faulty object.

    can you try the cheat objects.list adder to get a list of all ladder objects in your hood (not a typo, just post adder). See if there are more ladders than you're seeing.

    You can try deleting one by one with the cheat above and use objects.list again to see if they really get deleted (work on a backup of course). Objects.list gives you the object ids

    @crinrict YESS thank you so much!! I didn't even test the other lots (they worked fine when I tested last night though which narrowed it down for me to be this exact build), I just went straight and tried that objects.list and it listed a ladder even though I had removed all the ladders that were _visible_. The ID showing in BE didn't match that one or actually I guess it had to be in hex or the game wouldn't understand it. But this worked!! Thank you so much for your help!

    I don't usually ask for "googling help" but do you have a cheat sheet or something where you check these dev cheat commands? A reliable web page/forum post listing them all? They don't seem to show up with "help" in game. I would love to learn more about these, maybe I could next time solve this kind of stuff myself and know how to help others too. All in all this was really simple to solve if you just knew how. 😉 (would have saved me hours of frustration had I known about these commands :D)

    @siirysiir TwistedMexi is the master of cheats. Learned it all from him :D
