Error stating there is no room for baby when opening the game

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? Version 1.103.315.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All expansions, game packs and stuff packs. Only missing the following kits: Bust the Dust, Throwback Fit, Fashion Street, Incheon Arrivals, Carnaval Streetwear, Simtimate Collection, & Poolside Splash kit.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? End a game with a baby in a bassinet in the household (i.e. exit the game before it ages up); close the EA app and then open it up again.
What happens when the bug occurs? When I open up a save with a baby already in the household, I get a pop-up that states that there is too much clutter in the house for the baby to fit and that it was put in the households inventory. It's happened now on 3 separate save files with 3 different families.
What do you expect to see? I expect to open my game and the baby's bassinet is exactly where it was when I closed the game.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. This started after installing For Rent.

This glitch started happening after I installed and started playing The Sims 4: For Rent.  The family I was playing would have a baby on the lot when I'd save and close the game. When I would got back into the game, I would get a pop-up telling me that there was too much clutter in the household and the baby couldn't fit and that it had been moved into the household's inventory. This glitch would occur approximately 80 to 90% of the time if I exited the game while a baby was in the household I'd been playing. Initially, I had some mods in my game; I took them out and this glitch still occurs. I've tried starting a new save file - thinking that, perhaps, that save had become corrupted; still happened. I experimented with some older saves that I strictly use for building and it still occurred.

  • @Troubl156I gotta test this.. see if I can recreate on my modded
When you removed mods.. did you delete the thumbcache also? <<<<<<<<<<<

i ll see what happens on a test and get back to you also!

EDIT: Okay... I tried to recreate this on my modded game, with a seven baby challenge and one of my SIM families that had a baby. I couldn't get it to happen.
Doesn't mean it's not happening tho'.
You may want to pull all your saves / trays and make sure your mods are totally clear. Delete that cache and then repair game.
Then put your saves back and try again

If that doesn't work.. I am clueless at the moment... :-/

    let us know!!

Yes, I deleted the thumbcache.  Didn't bother to state that because it's second nature at this point in time to delete the thumbcache if I'm having issues, updating mods, etc.  I checked all folders within EA to make sure the mods were all removed.

  • @Troubl156 lol.. yeah.. I know. I won't lie it can be .... discomforting to be asked if you did all those steps.. but the powers that be prefer we do so for all that may have more specific input, and that everyone is on the same understanding 😉 It's second nature for me to of course 🙂

So.. on the issue. I am afraid with my not able to recreate it in a short test.. I ll have to on my side run a side game a bit to see if it pops up for me also. Meanwhile:

Check the forum for anything that seems similar, maybe another has posted that I didn't see? Maybe another will come in and ME TOO your OP, and most likely a hero with more 'get her done' can pop in with a direction to go to.

YOU COULD also send me the save if you like, I can try and replicate it that way, but it's going to take a bit. I could mess with it this afternoon ( it's 1030 AM EST for me now )

Hope you can get it sorted without having to wait around!
    🙂

Any lot type. Initially, had this happen on a rental residential but then had it happen in a normal residential (i.e. a house).

Appreciate you trying to help. Didn't post until today because, well, while annoying, it's not game breaking and I'm usually able to figure out what the problem is. This one has me stumped.

Haven't tried that.  Will give it a go and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestion.

@Pozoe It happened to me a long time ago when playing the apartments in city living, that is because there was not enough room to spawn the basinet, when I got back home from the hospital, there was a basinet there and there was also one in the family inventory, because the lady had twins at the hospital. Make sure it is only one sometimes you might get twins or tripplets.
