Fabulously Wealthy: Selling crafted items through build mode doesn't count

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.108.349.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Discover University, Island Living, Seasons, Cats and Dogs, Get Together, Get to Work, Werewolves, Vampires, Spa Day, Moschino Stuff, Vintage Glamour, Movie Hangout, Perfect Patio, but I don't think the expansions are relevant anyway
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? 1. Set a Sim's aspiration to Fabulously Wealthy. 2. On the Woodworking table, craft a Sculpture (any will do). 3. Sell it. Result: Points are counted toward total earnings in Fabulously Wealthy's "Have Earned Simoleans" benchmark. 4. Craft some furniture. 5. Sell it.
What happens when the bug occurs? No points are rewarded for furniture.
What do you expect to see? Points toward Fabulously Wealthy
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

This might have been around for a long while; it's subtle enough that it might have flown under people's radars. The payout for furniture is far better than the payout for sculptures, but sculptures count and furniture doesn't.

Also, if it matters, I am specifically looking at the "Have Earned S 200,000" benchmark.

  • Hm, it might actually be an issue of HOW they're sold. I sold statues directly from the Sim's player inventory and they counted, but selling them through Buy/Build mode has them also not count. (Furniture can only be sold that way.)

Coulda sworn I sold something through Buy/Build mode in the past and had it counted that way. A painting maybe?

EDIT: Maybe I was mistaken; selling a painting through Buy/Build didn't work either.

    It really should though.

    @HeroicJay

What you've described is how the game works and always has.  For selling anything to count towards that milestone for a sim, it must be sold by that sim, as the various aspiration milestones are tracked individually by sim.  If one sim sells something, via directly like off the easel with a sim active or through a sim's inventory, it will only count for that one sim. Selling it while in build mode doesn't count for the milestones because there isn't an active sim while you are there.  So, the game doesn't know which sim to give any credit for the sale to.  All that happens is that the household funds are increased by the value of the item sold. To count toward the milestone, you must be in live mode.

    Hope this helps.
