[FEEDBACK] [GTW] Don't get the option to control sim in active career

• Is this a new game you started after the patch or an exciting one
• Did you never have mods or remove them ?
• Do you get a message at all ?

Since being promoted to Lieutenant, I no longer get a notification asking me to go along with my Sim to work. It just behaves like a normal career.

Unsure if it's linked to pregnancy, but it happened around the time my sim got pregnant. The babies were born, and the sims are now kids, but it still persists.

No CC installed. Tried "repair" and deleting cache.

Its a new game i created after installing GTW.

I have never used mods in the sims as i feel like it just makes the game less interesting.

I got the message to join the sim at work for aproximately 3 days, after that i never got the message.

Hello there.

I made a new Sim for the new EP to play a Detective. That worked out for three ingame workdays before I decided to go on vacation - I had my usual two days per week off and added a vacation day I had earned for that. When I returned, I still got the option to follow my Sim. No problem so far.

When I went on a vacation the next time for these two days in the week, I went to the Deep Forest area before I had to return home (not sure if that is necessary to know) so I could get to work on this exact morning. I left Granite Falls around 4 AM and had to go to work at around 9 AM since I had been promoted to Corporal on my last day before vacation.

When at 9 AM usually a message would rip my Sim out of any action to ask if I'd join in or let them go alone, he was in the garden and taking care of his plants and I got no message but just the "Go To Work" interaction in the queue. I quit the gardening and off he went - without me.

No option to follow. I didn't find a "switch control to" option on the portrait either. The following days I tried traveling to the park and back before work and I tried to travel to Granite Falls and back again as well but none of this has helped my issues. I don't exactly want to switch the career to check if that helps.

But.. well, Aliens helped me to procrastinate this issue a tiny bit now.. *stares at Enrico's belly*

At any rate, once I'm done with my involuntary maternity leave, I'd like to be able to go back to work with my sim. After all, that's why I wanted the EP.

Does anyone else have this issue or had it and found a solution? My Sim is ambitious, without my help he'll never get the next promotion.. he doesn't even know how to interrogate someone all by himself! He's still so young..! ;_;

After reading trough the merged thread here, i just want to add that none of my sims were pregnant and my sims didn't use a vacation day.

I too, am having this problem.
I'd like ot start by saming my game is "clean." Have not installed any mods/changes to the game. Nor have I edited the police station/any other building besides my own sims house.

I got promoted to Corporal and shortly after went to bed (In real life)
When I started up the Sims again and it was time for my sim to go to work, he did nothing. So I had to manually click him and say "go to work" never received the option to follow them.

Next work day rolls around and my sim simply puts on his police outfit walks out the door and goes to work without me..
I think he dislikes me.. Maybe it's because I, err... woohoo blocked him?


On a more serious note, rather annoying bug. :[

Found two workarounds at the German forum for this

• Quit job and restart it
• Go traveling (and back) 1 h before Sim needs to go to work
