My sim has the active career in the police. i have run trough the lessons on the active career on the lot of the career but after a few days i don't get an option to go to that lot anymore when the sim is due for work. The sim goes to work by himself and comes back when his shift ends.
I have no mods installed and no CC.

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files and make a backup.
Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.
The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

I'm not able to join them for work either. Initially it was just my lab tech i couldn't join but now It's my police too, very annoying especially seeming the only reason i paid for the pack was so I could go to work with them. i like having that as an option. I hope they fix it soon as it'd a real waste of money when something doesn't do the thing you bought it for. like buying a vacuum cleaner that doesn't suck is useless. :/ I have no mods, sims aren't pregnant, I only bought the game last week so don't know what the problem could be.
