I'm having a similar issue. My one sim keeps stopping what I asked her to do (I have autonomy OFF) to do the same 3 tasks (practice programming, give fake bad news to her husband, and shake the magic figure 8 ball that answers your questions). She has no programming background, and if I sell the figure 8 ball, a new one reappears in her inventory every time she does it. At one point she had like 40 of them! Its running the game for me since I can't control the character.
I did remove all mods. I also reset the game by moving the folder to my desktop and then putting my saves etc back after it regenerated.
Note: this sim that is having the glitches grew up in another household as a child and never had any issues until she moved onto a brand new lot. Please HELP!

@ashleypaganoo If you're playing with Eco Lifestyle, it sounds like she's been tagged with the mischief & tech support N.A.P.s (since most policies give Sims relevant autonomous actions that override player-queued tasks). It really seems like this whole issue is a bug and not mod/broken-game related.
For everyone affected, I'm really hoping we get a fix soon🙂

I’m also having the same issue, but in xboxone. My sims will stop doing their task whatever it may be...eating, writing, playing video games to stop and bake a cake, so push ups, play with digipad, or practice making drinks. They also will knit without me telling to do so which isn’t so bad if they didn’t cancel what I instructed to go do it. Is there any resolution to this as of yet? They really need an update. It makes the game unplayable. I also canceled all autonomy and that doesn’t seem to matter.
- 5 years ago@rebeccah101 YES! For me its the future cubes though that keep spawning. The fake bad news interaction I thought would be related to the NAP initiative that encourages mischief but even with that gone I'm having the same problem -.-

Yes the fake bad news is awful. Everytime I play another household for a bit I have to go back and repair all the perfect relationships he had with his family because he's totally destroyed them. This did not start till the eco living update and expansion pack were installed. It's ruining my game and I am sad that some are saying (at least at this point) that there's no real solution. I've spent a lot of money on these games and I hate to see it messed up now.
- shannonamom5 years agoSeasoned Newcomer@rebeccah101 My sims are doing the exact same things. Just point blank refuse to follow any commands. they spontaneously do push-ups, start molding clay, (i have no idea where that came from), always want to be on the computer, playing guitar. It is making the game unplayable. I'm not seeing any help in this thread though...
- rebeccah1015 years agoSeasoned Vanguard@shannonamom No official fix for this yet, the best option at the moment is downloading simvasions mod. Or starting a new game with all NAPs disabled and voting disabled. If you do the latter make sure you turn the NAPs off that are active at the start of a new game in Evergreen harbour.
- 5 years ago@rebeccah101 Well I hope they come out with a fix. Starting a new game IS NOT a solution.

I too have issues with sims stopping their queued tasks and playing with clay. Showers, food, studying, toilet, everything seems to be impacted. Lumps of clay multiplying in the inventory. My sim is actually living on the amount of lumps of clay that is building up and I am selling.
