Hey,
Sad to report this is still an issue post the August patch. Clean game, no CC, fresh randomly generated character.
I would have thought this would be a higher priority issue.
So would I. I am hoping this will be fixed and not just left like other problems have been forgotten in the past. Not at all Happy with EA at the moment.
Kind regards James.

This bug has ruined the aesthetic of several of my builds, broken my immersion in the game, and halted a few new builds that I was working on prior to the June patch. It's disappointing that we are going to have to wait for another patch cycle before hopefully receiving a fix.
I try and maintain the perspective that it's probably difficult to test the game, taking into consideration all of the possible computer configurations; but when a particular bug is affecting so many different people, I have to wonder how it got missed during testing.
SimGurus have expressed numerous times that they intend to keep adding new content to this game for the foreseeable future. As it is, this AAA game including all of the packs cost me around $700 US, and some of the features that I have paid for don't quite work as advertised. This particular bug was caused by the June patch; one would expect patches to make the game work better, not worse. I sincerely hope this and other bugs are resolved soon and without introducing any new issues. 🙂

What bugs me is I didn't even get this expansion back in June yet I suffering from their patch.
I'm not sure why its taking so long either, all they have to do is compare the game code from before and after the update and reverse the damage. The longer they delay it and keep releasing more unwanted junk each month instead of fixing it will make it even harder. But wow though, we at least got that amazing darker blue load screen, well done. Give that guy a raise.
If people keep buying expansions and gamepacks from them they'll just be like... why bother fixing it? They keep giving us money, our customers are mindless sheep, lets just forget about fixing it or anything else.
This thread should have thousands of pages by now but it doesn't... because most of the people who play this game have no idea what they are doing and just build little 4 walled rooms or just live in premade EA houses that don't have the simple complexity of cutouts in basements. You ever seen an EA build use a cutout in a basement? I haven't, they barely know how to use their own build tools, and its why so many bugs get through each month.

I can't believe the latest patch hasn't fixed this yet. I was sincerely hoping this patch would be the fix.
PLEASE, EA. I have bought all the Sims games since Sims 1. Sims 1, Sims 2, Sims 3, and Sims 4 with all the extra content, DLC, and expansions. I've spent so much money just on Sims 4 alone. I really feel as a devoted customer that pays this much money for the game, you should make fixing this bug a priority. Please, I am really devastated over not being able to have proper basement builds. This really ruins the game and immersion for not just me, but for so many people.
Are there any Sim Gurus on the forum that can update us on the status of this bug fix? Any news or updates??

I can only agree with that. And it's not just the cellars that are affected. On normal floors there is the same problem. All floors above and below ground are affected.

@Gooseyness I doub this is just a code issue. It looks more like they changed some phisical part of the maps when they added the hability to swim in lakes, rivers, and sea and that is not as simple to fix as changing back some lines of code.

I can't play one of my households (I play in rotation) because of this issue, & I only have one more unaffected household to play before it's time to start aging the grade-school kids to teens. That means my gameplay is going to stop, 'cuz otherwise I'll have to leave one of the older grade-school kids in grade-school while I age up younger grade-school kids, OR I have to move my affected HH to a new house with less interesting architecture and zero family history. I don't want to do that. The family's been in that house for 4 generations now, & I want 'em to stay there.
I haven't d/l'd the latest patch because the June patch was so destructive. I'm letting everyone else beta-test the August patch, & I intend to continue delaying d/l-ing patches henceforward. I used to do that, & regret that I didn't continue the practice.
Posting in the hopes that it helps get this issue to the top of the priority list.

@Tiarella4 I haven't even played the game since June. This bug ruins every house i've built. So I decided there is no reason to put time into the game until its fixed. I actually think they don't care about fixing it and worst case i'll have to just stick to pre June 2019 patch, kinda sucks because eventually I did want to get more expansions to expand the areas to build.
It's such an obvious bug. There's a good chance they saw it the first day they created their update and just thought nobody would care so they just ignored it and released it anyways.
I'm grateful that the original poster of this thread found the bug so fast. He found it within the same day of release. Why can't EA hire like 1 or 2 people like him, they'd avoid releasing so many game breaking bugs if they did.

Regarding: Floors on NON-Basement level visibility. variant reported on this bug (to remove confusion).
I just had a look at this as I was sure it was part of my testing. I get remove floors all the way down to the first level basement . So I can see down like 4 or so levels.I "only" get the error (seeing dirt where there shouldn't be) in the basement. I can still remove and replace all the floors/ceilings.
So maybe you have a different error is you can't get floors to disappear above ground?

I can confirm that my error of unwanted dirt/ floors that won't vanish even after being removed is happening ONLY in the basements. I checked all my lots. I have several lots with above-ground cut-outs and interior balconies, and all of them have visibility down to the lower floors as they should, and are functioning properly. It's only in the basements of my lots that this problem is occurring. Above-ground levels are OK.
