[FIXED] Black shadow on ceiling above indoor pools

Ceilings show a dark shadow above any indoor pool.

I realize that this might be related to this thread http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4-Bug-Reports/Black-Shadows-on-Ceiling-of-Open-Story/m-p/4407832#U4407832

However, in the case of the pool there is a partial fix for it. Go into build mode and delete the pool:

and then restore it be using undo (ctrl-z):

Then when the pool is back the lighting is normal again. Unfortunately, this does not persist. As soon as you leave the lot and come back (basically anything that causes a load screen, including restarting the game) then the nasty black shadow is back.

Removed CC and mods for testing.

Yes, we do have this issue documented in our Build Mode Feedback thread here.  I had not added a bug report to AHQ for it, but as you said, there is no permanent fix.  Whenever you load, the black shadow will be back.

This was fixed in the 12/4/15 patch.

  • Confirmed - no more shadows on the ceiling over my Sim's downstairs pool! 🥳
