[FIXED] Can't make friends

I don't feel that those workarounds really solves the bug. It is impractical to suggest to not let any friendship fall below that when, for example, you are playing a dynasty or legacy. The 'making friends' interactions are still bugged and are not working as they should or as they did before the July patch. EA still needs to fix these on-going issues.

Brand new sims can still get stuck at 'impartial' despite chatting until the green relationship bar is full. I don't see how then having to make this sim an enemy and then re-make the friendship is the game working correctly.

Please don't mark this issue as solved. I firmly believe that EA needs to address this issue still.

I've had this issue when I started a new game. About every 3 sims I try to befriend, only one will actually become my friend. The others will stay as "Impartial", even if their bars are full. Its rather annoying, since I'm going for the "Friend of the World" aspiration. Anyone knows what's wrong with my game/save and if I can do anything to fix it, or I just have to start a new game and hope I don't get that bug?

Edit: I have no mods. I have the "Get to Work" , "Spa Day" and "Outdoor Retreat" packs.

Here is another serious question;  How the heck did NO ONE in the entire devolving team see this? 

I can understand minor bugs. (There are plenty of them  that came with this patch that I will not mention because of their minority)  But, not being able to make friends, really? Socialization is like 1/3 of the game. 

         At first. I thought it wasn't a big deal because it was just cosmetic.  " So what if your relationships are labeled impartial instead of good friends, even though your green relationship bar is maxed."  Welp, unfortunately the game breaking part smacked me in the face when I realized I had 3 sims that had aspirations that required a certain amount of friends. The bug also breaks the whims that ask you to "make a friend". 

       I believe it has been a little over a week and there has been no mini-patch as of 9:08 7/23. I am fully aware of the other threads out there that have "solutions". But I refuse to have to use mods and cheats to alter the relationships in game. Besides those "solutions" are completely temporary and would have to be used repeatedly. I understand that people make mistakes and no game is without bugs, but this should have been caught and fixed before the release of the patch. I hope this gets fixed soon with either an official patch from Maxis or unofficial mod from the community. Either way I will always be  amazed at how effortlessly EA is able to f up nearly every release of ANYTHING without fail. 👍

Thank you for the link Phantomlover1717. I checked it out. I did follow the workaround instructions there and it was very helpful. Thank you to all the creative people who have given us ways to keep playing while we wait for a fix. 

After calling Origin they suggested that I make a new thread, so that EA would not think the bug is completely "solved". I appreciate all the lovely mods that are available. I am using them now, but I do not want to be dependent on a mod  to play the game 🙂. The cheats are very complicated. I would probably break my game trying the destroy options 🙂.  Even using the MC and  the UI cheats mod, becomes annoying after a while of going through entire groups of buggy relations. I hope EA will fix the things that were broken with the new patch, so mods are optional.

Thank you so much again. I just wanted to make sure there was hope out there for those who want a mod free game.

I have been seeing this issue a bit more often now, so I contacted the person that runs the bug forum. When it really is a bug it will be added to the list and hopefully fixed soon. 🙂

I have the same thing after the patch. Bud only with a few sims not everyone.

I'm having the same problem. All of my sims are stuck at impartial even though their relationship bar is maxed out. I can't make any progress until this is fixed, please make it one of your top priorities!
