[FIXED] Can't save/move because game thinks a Sim is aging up

Are you using mods - No Are you using custom content (as in clothing and objects) ? No What is your Operating System (XP, Vista, Win 7, Win 8, Win 8.1) ? Win 7 Pro 64-bit Do you have the down...

    The game will no longer occasionally accidentally think that a Sim is in the middle of aging up, which had previously prevented players from traveling or saving during this time.
    • That said, you still (intentionally) can’t travel or save when a Sim really is aging up… happy birthday!

    Fixed in Patch 1.47.49

    I'm locking this thread as it's old and doesn't use the template. This is supposed to be fixed now.

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Rarely (0% - 9%)
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? None
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Not sure
What happens when the bug occurs? I can't save my game because "sim is aging up" but no one is even close to aging up
What do you expect to see? Greyed out save, not able to save in any capacity.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

Please help! I can't save my game because my sim is aging up, but no one is even close to aging up!

I went on a rocket mission and my craft crashed, then my Sim because invisible. I usually fix that by saving, but this time I can't save because a sim is aging up. However no one in my household is even close to aging up! 

I've done HOURS of research online so I don't have to quit and lose all of my progress. I've seen a few suggestions, but nothing seems to work. 

Here's what I've tried:

1. Resetting each sim in the household (helped with the invisible problem but nothing else)

2. Trying to change sims clothes in the create a sim (not allowed while sim is aging up)

3. Resetting CAS (not allowed while sim is aging up)

4. Turning my sims into plants (because why not)

5. Waiting for 20 minutes just in case some other neighborhood sim is aging up 

6. Using testing cheats to add a random teenage sim to my household, and aging him up 

7. Going to game options and then changing the lifespan from normal to long, then saving changes (nothing happened), then I changed it back to normal (nothing happened again)

8. Try adding another family or going to the main menu (can't do that without losing my game)

Any other suggestions? Or should I just give up and lose the last 3 hours of play?

    Hi! I know this is from a week ago and I didn't know who to respond to but I saw you still needed help. As long as you didn't delete the family. Okay, so. Open the console and put

    testingcheats true

    then put in 

    sims.modify_in_cas

    this isn't fulleditmode but it worked for me. If it doesn't for you i'm sorry for taking your time but this is all I got. 

    Now that you're in it just leave it. Then building should come back. At least it did for me. Have a great day and I hope your problem gets fixed! <3

      Thank goodness you posted this when you did. I have been playing this game since it came out, I have all expansion/stuff packs, yes I use cc but no mods. I have never ever ever had this glitch before. I used this cheat (sims.modify_in_cas) and it just sent me back to my last save. It sucks because I'd been playing for who knows how long. You would think that if people have been having this issue since 2014 it would be fixed by now. EA is a sellout.

        Did I ruin anything? Is that save bad or no? Please tell me because I need to know if I helped you! I don't want somebody upset because of me!  But again please tell me if you got what you wanted and the save is good!

      YOU ARE A F'ING HERO!

      I picked this game up last night, have not used any cheats (until this started happening). I've had this aging bug 3 TIMES! The first time it happened, I legit lost 5 hours of play. (Stupid me thought maybe it auto-saved). Didn't save during that time, and had to lose all of that progress and start over.

      This time (being the third time it's happened), I was only going to lose about 2 but your fix actually worked every other one I've tried hasn't. So appreciate you posting this here. It needs to be like stickied and referenced everywhere.
