    • We fixed an issue that could cause pets placed from the Gallery to have missing textures once in game.

    This issue was fixed in Patch 1.40.61

    If you still get black animals, please open a new thread.

Hello @dollybones

We haven't heard about this issue occurring with adopted pets.

Are you using any mods/cc?  if so, does the issue still occur with the Mods folder removed?

If this occured without mods, would you be willing to share these files:

  • \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\saves\
  • \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Config.log
  • \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Options.ini
