[FIXED] [CD] Dog/Cat disappearing

    ● We trained our Cats and Dogs extra hard so that they do not disappear from your Lots to others randomly. They are all good and best boys and girls, 15/10 will pet them all again.

    Fixed in Patch 1.65.70/ 1.29

Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.63.134.1220
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Everything up through and including eco lifestyle.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Get a pet
What happens when the bug occurs? When I get a pet for my household, they exist in the household for a couple of days and then disappear and their icon grays out as if they are off lot. They aren't running away and it is happening to both dogs and cats.
What do you expect to see? Pets to stay in household unless they run away or have the free spirit trait.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. It started after the update on 6/03/2020

When I get a pet for my household, they exist in the household for a couple of days and then disappear and their icon grays out as if they are off lot. They aren't running away and it is happening to both dogs and cats.

    I have the same problem!! very annoying! do you have mods or cc instaled aswell? I updated the my game just now with the new patch (june 10th 2020) and it is still happening. Playing with pets in the sims is my fave so I hope they will fix it very soon! does anyone know a temporary fix? a mod maybe? I tried a lot.. deleted most of my mods that where pet related and tried all the gameplay options like locking the doors or calling my pet back I can only get my pet back when i travel with it but then when I come home with it, it will 'poof' dissepear again after a few minutes.

    @laurabriss This happened to me the other day and I just went into manage worlds and back into the game and they came back

    I am also having this exact issue on a Mac after being forced to apply the latest patch. Went in to play a saved game I have been playing for a while with a Sim and her dog. The dog went to sleep then was gone. Nowhere to be found on the lot and his icon is greyed out, only showing his name when I hover over it. Calling to him does nothing. Clicking on his food bowl only prompts me to either fill it or place it in my inventory - no more calling the pet to come eat. My Sim seems oblivious to the fact that the dog is gone and all interactions associated with having one seem to have disappeared. This is a disappointing blow to game play for those of us who enjoy Cats & Dogs. Please fix!

    This is happening to me too it’s pretty poor considering it’s a game that was paid for (ea are failing to meet the contract) if they don’t fix it they should reimburse as they have to due to consumer rights!

    It isn't a permanent fix, but I have found that when they disappear, if you go to your relationships, you can call them back like you would call a sim friend.

      I loaded up the game the other day, and started playing with a sim who's dog had been disappearing regularly. Now when I loaded up I was asked which sim I wanted to play with, but only my sim (not the dog) was selectable so of course I chose him. He was at his friend's house and the dog was at home. I called the dog to my sim and they hung out for a while at the friend's house enjoying a meal. Now I'm not sure any of that is relevant, but in all the time I've played so far (a good few sim days) the dog hasn't disappeared... 🤞

    The same thing has been happening to me: it even happened while I was getting my dog spayed. She would be chilling around the house, going on a walk, doing pretty much anything, and then poof! Suddenly no dog and she's greyed out as if she's gone somewhere. Sometimes she actually is somehow on a different lot, and I can call her back. Other times, it doesn't show any location she could be gone to, and calling her doesn't work. It's extremely frustrating.

    @laurabriss I haven't always been able to call them back, either. A couple times I've had to exit the game without saving because of that. Has anyone else had that problem too?

      it is not necessary to leave, you can enter the CAS and when you return the pets appear at the door
