Children once again can earn Adult skills. *sniff* They grow up so fast!

@Dorabella123 Dropping the skill level back to 9 is one thing I haven't tried yet. I'm still testing so I'll give it a go when I get back to my test household. This thing is incredibly inconsistent. No two children have gotten the same skills it seems even though I try to play them the same way.

I tried dropping the 4 basic skills back to 9 yesterday using a mod and letting the child level back up. While it appears to have worked somewhat in that I was able to get other skills to show, it caused my game to start throwing Last Exceptions.
So I would not recommend doing that.
@CGrant56 That's not good. I didn't get Last Exceptions but I did get a stuck skill bar above my sim's head and the counter on Creativity counting to infinity. Very annoying. I think I will just let them enjoy their childhood of endless playing with the doll house and wait till they are teens for the adult skills.
@Dorabella123 I got that too on the progress bars and the skill panel. You probably got an LE too. Most times you don't know it when they happen unless you use MCCC. That gives you a wall popup when one happens so you can go check and see what it was.
I'm just going to complete what skills I can and just age the kids up to teens when they can't do anything more just to not have to deal with the idle hands as the old saying goes.
I set all the child skills to 9 from the get go to see what would happen when they maxed out. One was practicing piano when they maxed creativity. They didn't immediately start gaining skill in piano, but after stopping and starting practice again, they were. But same sim after finishing the Creative aspiration before starting violin could not gain the violin skill.
Anyone know if a mod has come out to address this pending an EA fix?

I have just found a mod on Mod the Sims that enhances the child skills so hopefully overcomes this issue - fingers crossed. I have just downloaded it myself and haven't tested it yet. It's here:

I tried your suggestion posted, and reset the mental/creativity back to 9. Sure enough, as long as I tried each adult skill after hitting level 10 of the corresponding childhood skill before saving (someone surmised this is when the glitch occurs), my child sim was able to earn the skill (charisma, violin, piano, pipe organ, logic, video gaming) like pre-glitch. An issue with that is the skill chart won't auto-populate the 10th skill again, looking like it is unfulfilled, but the trait is already there so it stays with them.
Another side glitch that resulted from this bug? My child sims don't register instrument playing for the creativity aspiration (play 5 hours). I haven't been able to test it yet with a child sim where I haven't had to reset the creative skill (since this glitch appeared), but my sims didn't show any hours played on any instrument at all toward the aspiration goal. I had to cheat the aspiration fulfilled which I hate doing.
