I have a family in Henford on Bagley and the mum died of old age. Grim showed up and mooched around the place for ages until finally doing his thing. Then he just stayed. I couldn't interact with him, the only option was the 'Plead' greyed out. Mum is an urn/gravestone. Could still build, and travel, but Grim was stuck in a loop wandering around the property.
So I tried the reset sim and debug without success.
I tried placing a sofa under him, as suggested on other forums. He jumped out the way and when I exited build mode he seemed to have gone. I then went to the Hijinks festival and when I came back Grimmy was still wandering like a lost fart, with no option to interact. Could still build and travel.
Then one of the chickens was ripe for reaping, so I was hoping this would unstick Grim, but no luck. He not only refused to reap the chicken, but just loitered and both of them seemed stuck. No longer have access to build and travel.
I debugged both, without luck.
I added Grim to my family, and could interact with him, and have him interact with the chicken.I then removed him from the family, and had one of them go to talk to him (Interaction options available again). Grimmy did his disappearing trick where he strikes the ground and leaves. Still says someone is dying - no build mode, no travel.
Grim turned up again to claim the not yet dead chicken, He's stuck again with no interaction options.
Debugged both again - no luck.
Destroyed Chicken - still no luck.
So I finally exited Sims entirely without saving. It meant losing a day, but it was driving me nuts. Loaded the game, played past my return from the Hijinks festival and Grimmy showed up - the chicken was marked for death, and after a brief alterrcation with one of the devil chickens, the chicken was reaped, and Grimmy has gone.
Just thought I'd share the journey. Fortunately I didn't have a mouldering body lying around that caused it to start with.
