[FIXED] [CoL] Multiple versions of Agatha and Agnes Crumplebottom

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.77.131.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Start playing with Cottage Living installed. I have only played one save so far and have interacted with both Agatha and Agnes. I'm not sure if this is what triggered it. I have also bought things from their store so maybe that triggered it too. I don't know.
What happens when the bug occurs? My game has generated multiple versions of Agnes and Agatha Crumplebottom. I can see in manage households that there are now 7 Agnes Crumplebottoms in my game and 7 Agatha Crumplebottoms in my game.
What do you expect to see? Only one Agatha Crumplebottom and one Agnes Crumplebottom in the game.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Downloaded Cottage Living

Nothing further to add.

Edit By Crinrict: Added Tag to Title, Adjusted Title

  • Agatha and Agnes Crumplebottom can no longer marry into a Household, sparing them from being cloned. Honestly, one Agnes Crumplebottom is enough. Also, when asking for Agatha's hand in marriage, her response is now a polite yet firm decline instead of gibberish text. She's having too much fun with cousin Agnes to settle down! And if you invite her to move in, she'll now kindly remind you she’s perfectly content where she is. Keep trying, but don’t expect wedding bells!

Wait. Wait. I just noticed a pattern. A lot of people mention first noticing the problem - or at least have photos of seeing multiples at once - while at an eco lifestyle community lot or in a retail shop.

WHAT IF. What if the game’s essentially overwriting their “garden shop owner” tag with “customer” or “neighbor” or something, and then the game detects there isn’t an Agnes Crumplebottom tag anymore and creates a new one. Even if that tag gets put back after the special lot visit/event is over, by then you have multiples already.

Might also apply if you turned the pub into a restaurant and then visited the market stalls via that restaurant? Or if one of the Crumplebottoms showed up in your welcome wagon…

    Just a theory though.

  • I deleted the family from my world, but Agnes is still walking around.  If I go to manage my world, she is not there at all.  How do I get rid of her?

Is anyone still having issues with this ?

If you already have duplicated ones, you'll need to delete them manually. It's more about do you still have them getting created ?
  • @thisisarealpainx I have not had a single game with this add-on where this was not the case. I'm unsure why they need saves. You really just have to open the game and you will find at least one black and one white one.
  • @crinrict Started a new household from what I use as my base save file after the infants patch and installing Growing Together and I am now seeing this issue.  It seems to be the same as this bug since it did generate new NPCs for all other positions, but duplicated the Crumplebottoms: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/FIXED-ECO-CoL-NPC-Sims-not-filling-regular-positions/m-p/11668155#M221054

I have created new households to branch off of my base save many times and this is the first I've seen this issue.  I did edit the households more recently in my base save to give the NPCs likes and dislikes and then removed them from my played households, could that have generated multiple versions of the NPCs?

I think the problem is that the "originals" can't be found in the other households tab. It's like they aren't accessable but still have the neighborhood stories options applied. They then "move out" of wherever the hell they are and into the other household tab but under another last name (even though they keep their original name, the game seems to create a new last name household for them to exist in.) . The game then re-creates the original "non-accessable" versions to replace the ones that moved out.

If we actually had access to the originals like we do with other NPC's like Father Winter, we could immediately turn off the neighborhood stories for them to keep them where they are.. but we don't.
