It appears that the Sims now correctly start with Causal instead of Boring (or other inappropriate status).

Did you try going traveling to see if that solves it ? Are you using mods in your game ?
I do use mods but none that would affect relationships or conversations in this way. It's not always that this happens and if my sims keep talking conversations change appropriately(to the tone I'm setting). I just worry for sims when I'm not watching them, like when I focus in one sim in my household and let the others by themselves.
Anyways it seems more people are having this issue and that SimGuruDaniel is aware of it. 🙂
