I have been experiencing this, too. I have been creating my restaurant for the past week and finally decided to open it today. Both my host and waiter are doing their tasks but my chef won't move at all. He/She would just stand in front of the restaurant and won't come in. I have tried the following already:
- Interact with the chef via "Manage". Chef was unresponsive for any option I selected.
- Checked if I can call over the other employees. They have options other than "Manage" unlike the chef. I have attached screenshots for this.
- Sold the business, uploaded the lot to My Library, bulldozed the lot, re-placed the restaurant to the bulldozed lot, then bought the business again. Made sure there's nothing above the chef's station. (as I've read from other threads) Hired new sets of employees but the chef had the same behavior.
- Bulldozed the lot again then placed a restaurant from Maxis -- Villa Bovine. I was under the assumption that the issue may have something to do with the restaurant I have created. I also did not edit Villa Bovine. Hired a new set of employees (again 😞), still, the chef was not moving at all.
I have seen threads as old as 2016 with similar issues. I don't know if this has been fixed before or if it is working for others. Haven't tried this feature prior to the last update.
P.S.: Not using any mods. I just have the base game, Dine Out and Seasons.
Update: This worked! Options were still limited to "Manage" for the chef but finally went inside to the chef's station and cooked. Thanks @Anska_Stormblade 🙂
