Sims go to University classes early when directed to if they are at their campus.
Fixed in Patch 1.90.358/1.61

There are two worse scenarios:
Scenario 1: Sim goes to the wrong building
Your Sim goes to class early, but she goes to the wrong building. When class starts, shehas to run to the other side of the campus, getting there late. Only solution is to cancel go early and walk her close to class manually.
Scenario 2: Sim has two consecutive classes in buildings at the opposite side of the campus.
Your Sim properly goes to class 1. You get notified she has another class starting. Once class 1 ends, class 2 starts, but since the buildings are far from each other, she gets to class 2 late.
In all cases, the following conditions were true:
Ugh I have scenario two right now. My sims class starts immediately after her first one ends and it's at the opposite building in Foxbury so she is undoubtedly late EVERY time and will end up failing since being on class on time is THE way to make sure you pass. I think it's hilarious that the first thing that gets asked is if you're using any mods because I'm literally about to go and install a teleport mod it's the only thing I can think to FIX this issue. In fact I'm starting to find that there are a lot of mods created specifically to fix bugs & other aspects that EA lacked in. If I had known what times the classes were beforehand I wouldn't have set her up for failure. Also I don't understand why the info panel doesn't show what building your class is in that would have been a simple and helpful thing to include -.- I also agree there should have been a 'Get to class early' button that appears an hour before the class that you could manually click because the automation of the action is not consistent.

This is happening to me as well! My Sim is studying at Foxbury and I believe I have managed to narrow the cancelling out to a particular staircase outside of their dormitory. My game is in Finnish but you can see the Sim standing at the bottom of the stairs where he always stops at. He decides to go to class early, then reaches the stairs, teleports to the bottom of the stairs and cancels out. If I don't manually order him to go right next to the school building he will be late to the class.
Guys, anyone still experiencing this? It happens to me mostly (90%) and really spoils the game. Yes, I have my warnings 1 hour before classes but my sims are not preparing early to attend. Sometimes a notebook spawns in their hands but they are just standing still :D

Okay, there are 200+ me too’s but it is still happening on my game. After december update everything is all the same as expected, arent we going to get a fix or is it just me experiencing this issue? Now i have 3 students and it is literally ruining my game if i am playing inside a campus. (Since there are a few different scenarios on this: My sims are not going to class early. For now only workaround for me -not working everytime btw- is not letting them be busy doing something else, i mean they need to be “idle” to get “go to class early” command. But it is not the only issue, as previously mentioned, sometimes they started walking towards the class but after using an elevator; they just cancel this command too.)
