Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.59.73.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have a sim complete a degree at either university
What happens when the bug occurs? The earned degree does not apply to the job my sim gets after graduating.
What do you expect to see? My sim should start careers that correspond with the degree earned at university at a higher level
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure
My sims earn degrees at university and then when that apply for a job that corresponds with the degree they earned, they don't receive any bonus or automatic promotions.

@madry1216
You would need to wait until the degree shows up under their traits. Then choose a job highlighted in red.
If your mods were in place when you graduated and took the job they may have impacted the outcome.
Try removing (not disabling) mods / cc and delete the localthumbcache.package and any other cache files.
Test the game to see if quitting the job and rejoining the career will let you join at a higher level.

Never used CC or mods.- madry12166 years agoRising Traveler@EuphorialQueen That is something I tried. When my mods were in I tried to get the job. When the benefits of the degree were not received, I quit, removed my mods, deleted localthumbcache and ran a game repair while my mods were out then restarted still without my mods. I had my sim quit her career and then when I tried rejoining the career I still had to start the career on level one.
- crinrict6 years agoHero+@madry1216 There's several issues with degrees going on so a few questions:
- Did you play the Sim at the time of graduation and do you have the actual degree showing in your Sim Panel ?
- Do you just see scientist in the career panel or also the higher levels directly ? Could you scroll through all the available jobs to see if there's anything else that applies to scientist ?
- Do you actually still have classes showing up in your panel as shown on your picture ?
- Do you receive the higher career levels for the other two careers (astronaut and engineer) ?- madry12166 years agoRising Traveler
@crinrict - The picture I included was my sim's husband's degree and job status. My female sim has a degree in drama, which does show up in her Simology panel, but still she had to start her social media job at level one. Her husband's physics degree was in his job panel and he also started at level 1 of his scientist career Yes, I did play the sim with the drama degree at the time of graduation.
- There was nothing in the career panel telling me that any of the careers would be affected by the degree that my sim possessed.
-There is no classes in my female sim's panel (drama degree) but the picture showed her husband's degree under class schedule in the career panel.
-No. I tried joining the engineer career first for the sim with the physics degree and when he ddn't receive the benefits in that career, I had him quit and join the scientist career and he started level one in that career too.
