I’m also having this issue. First roommate, funnily enough, Alex Moyer showed up lol and I added her. Was doing perfectly well for a few sim days. Then I started noticing that she stopped showering or going to the bathroom. She was doing just fine, taking baths, going restroom, reading, eating my food (not even cooking for herself either, that moocher!) and she never washed dishes or cleaned. So I was fixing the toilet, cooking, etc and making sure to keep my eye out on her cuz I read this thread before I added a roommate to see if there were issues and I could avoid them. NOPE! She gives me a message saying that her needs aren’t being met etc. So I add a half bathroom downstairs and again same message pops up. So I add a shower. Same message again! Then I expand her bedroom and make sure she has space in there. Same message. I even made sure the kitchen was clean and there was enough entertainment items in the house (stereo/tv) and STILL same message. She even ended up walking OUT OF the house, all the way into the neighborhood (the university one) while she was holding in her pee DESPITE THERE BEING TWO TOILETS IN THE HOUSE! I’m super stumped. She ended up leaving and I added her again. She was doing fine for a few hours and then back again to the same old thing. So she left and now I’m with a new roommate and I’m going to test some things out. And report back. I’m in a house btw and no CC or MODS.
edit: so I tested it out with the new roommate and I know now that 100% the roommates are buggy as heck! So I have two FULL bathrooms with shower/tub combo in one and a stand alone tub and standing shower in the upstairs one. I noticed that he wouldn’t go take a shower in the upstairs but would go take a bath in the downstairs which was furthest away from him. Then one day randomly he used the stand alone shower in the upstairs. Then another day he would be stinking up and waving his arm in the air then threatened to leave then as I cheated his needs to full he goes off and showers down stairs and immediately says “feeling better about this situation. I feel like I’m able to handle my life now. Thanks for providing.” It’s like roommates are big toddlers in this game! They literally won’t cook for themselves, nor clean themselves, nor will they clean up autonomously and when they DO I try my hardest to thank them for doing so. Also this roommate is constantly coming onto my sim and it’s creepy asf despite her CONSTANTLY denying him and it even gives my sim the option to apology??? Wtf??? I’m a bit grossed out about that. But anyways back to the issue. Roommates are NEEDY asf! I did notice something unusual though! The roommate’s bedroom lights won’t automatically turn off at night when he’s sleeping, but will turn off if he leaves the room. I noticed this too with the first roommate, Alex Moyer, and I thought I possibly left a gap in the roof above her room but there was not. I tested it out at night with my sim entering and exiting the room and the lights at FIRST wouldn’t turn off when she exited but once I kicked out that roommate and reloaded the game (saved, exited, came back) it went back to normal but now the lights just won’t turn of automatically when the roommate is sleeping in there. Halfway fixed but not sure if that is just meant to be that way? I doubt it is, but thought I’d add it to the bugs with roommates. Also he will randomly leave the house into a rabbit hole, come back not even a few seconds later with a cake. Sometimes he just goes and comes back with nothing and other times he comes with omelets or something other food. There is a full kitchen with nice appliances and ample space. Not sure what’s going on.
