    after the update Jan 16, 2024, the fizzing machines started working - 

    Sims 4 Update 1/16/2024

    PC: 1.104.58.1030 / Mac: 1.104.58.1230

I encountered the same issue too! I hope they fix it ASAP.

PS: Thunder1143 released a temporary bug fix until it gets fixed, I'm glad for that. However, I hate how much EA relies on the modders to fix their faulty product. Fix the goddamn thing already! Minor bugs and glitches are a thing, not being able to play/interact with the game is a whole another thing. Been waiting for a ton of fixes for similar issues since the release of MWS personally.
