Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.63.134.1020 (64 bit)
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Every single one
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Click on a fridge while on a lot that has surplus power saved up and the option to stop it using surplus power doesn't show up like it does for all other items.
What happens when the bug occurs? The option to stop fridges using surplus power isn't there so they just use up all or most of the energy you save making it pointless for small off the grid lots.
What do you expect to see? The option to stop it using surplus power like other items,
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. The recent one for eco lifestyle when you introduced the feature
I'm not sure if this is actually a bug, a mistake or an oversight but whenever you click on fridges when you're making surplus power, you can't turn off power consumption like you can other items. You have the option to stock fridges with ice so they work without power so i don't understand why this is missing, you can't save up power if a fridge constantly uses it & not having one is silly, you should be able to turn off surplus power consumption just like you can stoves & showers etc.

Hello.
For anyone encountering this issue:
Does the off-the-grid fridge have ice in it?
I heard they're only supposed to work as off-the-grid fridges if they have ice in them; otherwise they function as normal fridges.- LeissaMyst4 years agoNew Veteran
Yes I always have ice in my off-the-grid fridges...I don't expect that to make a real difference in power consumption though (particularly when already unplugged, and still getting power bills :P)
In hindsight, The Icebox that ships with EL EP isn't very efficient, I've had better success with OTG Fridges from the newer "Country Living" EP. Still, this is a very complex bug/issue, and it has deep ties to other symbiotically linked phenomena, such as the recently "fixed" billing of OTG Power/water, and notifications overload. I wouldn't be surprised if it's some underlying issue causing all of these things, but to be perfectly fair, I have no proof.
