    • After enforcing regulations with the Landgraab Power Company, power on a Sim's lot will no longer be unexpectedly shut off when bills are paid in full.

    Fixed in Patch 1.106.148/1.91

I have had this happen to me yesterday! The squirrel call. It is terrible.

My sim lives in Britechester university dorms. I clicked: Prepared? The power went off. 3 days later it was STILL off. And yes, I also traveled to different lots while the 48 hour thing was happening. I realised it was this bug as I have seen it in James Turner's series of Dream Home Decorator. You can see it happening if you watch his part 6 of the series: Fixing my horrible renovation! Dream Home Decorator (Part 6) and watch part 8 where the power is still off. Eventually he decides to move her to Sunset Valley. Meaning that this lot is now forever broken.

I spent a lot of time and attention to my dorms and for sure do not want this lot to be broken forever or that I have to fix it with a mod each time.

Now I have to go back to a previous save and lose a lot of gameplay and possible building. Great.

If I would opt for using loot.apply_to_sim loot_Utilities_PowerShutoff_False, do I then have to apply this each single time or is it a one time cheat and the power is back for good?

    @Revertica I also can't use the mailbox hack because I'm in the dorms. super frustrating and hope this gets fixed.

      @raggedylesbianne You should be able to use the enable freebuild cheat in university dorms to replace the mailbox, as the dorm mailbox is within the buildable area, unlike apartments.

      Either that, or you can freely edit the dorm if all playable students move out first. Building is only locked while the dorm is occupied.
