[FIXED] Excessive and overlapping thought bubbles

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? n/a
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? all
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? 1. Play a household which have at least 1 cat. 2. Go to World menu. 3. Switch to other played household.
What happens when the bug occurs? 1. Play a household which have at least 1 cat. 2. Go to World menu. 3. Switch to other played household. What happens when the bug occurs? My played household's sims AND nearby nonplayed sims are wishing about a "white pillow". This popup happens often(80%+), and sometimes it duplicate with "talking". I switched to other played household, now have this effect. Of course, all sims wishing this don't need sleeping(energy level: green). (I'm not talking about wishicon(bottom-left).) Not talking: ( White Pillow Icon )Ooo [Sim] While Talking: ( Icon I can't see because it overlayed by Pillow)=>[Sim] + ( White Pillow Icon )Ooo [Sim]
What do you expect to see? What is causing this? I tried to fix these sims("resetsim First Last", "sims.remove_all_buffs", restart the game) but nothing changed. The cat's broadcast system might have a bug or something.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Last patch

<edit: Fixed form again>

    • We fixed an issue where thought bubbles would overlap and never go away. It should be fixed now, at least, that is our thought. Bubble. Get it.

    Fixed in Patch 1.46.18

Also been having this issue I think since Seasons, though it took me a while to realize this was a bug. It picks something at random (it's been a specific sim's face, a dragon, an explosion, an object, etc etc), and then once one sim starts having that excessive thought bubble, which then overlaps their speech bubbles, all sims on a lot (including children and toddlers) will have it as well. Exactly as pictured in previous posts. A thought bubble with random thing/sim on top of speech bubble.

  • Yes I am also experiencing the 'talk to the hand' excessive thought bubble ... I'm starting to take it personally actually, when a sim starts showing this ... its like they're telling me, the player, talk to the hand ha ha

As this has been occurring for months now (and I even saw this bug happen during the official EA stream for the Seasons DLC), have the devs said they are on to fixing this? I understand it might be complicated to fix and not a game breaker but it is super annoying... And it seems that every player is effected by it... An update would be nice 🙂

There has been no statement in either direction. I've never seen a statement about not fixing something unless it's something that's by design.

You'll just have to be patient for the moment.
  • This has been a pet peeve of mine, my bubbles mostly have the pillow overlap, even though everyone is happy and not sleepy.

     pets get it too.

From watching my playable sims, who get it, the first bubble that is covered is the important bubble, the top bubble is the useless one. Only happened with seasons, as mentioned in a different bug report I removed seasons for a different issue but did notice this didn't happen so it's definitely a seasons issue. I don't remember seeing it with the very first live update of seasons, it's the current version of seasons (both with cc and without) it 100% goes down.

I've had this happen in Brindleton Bay (household with dogs), and I've also noticed it in Oasis Springs (single guy living alone).  No CC or mods, playing on PC.
