You should no longer experience situations where you can get stuck on Residential Rental lot types. This includes Error code: 102/122:a0adad34 which should no longer occur on load.
Fixed in Patch 1.105.297/1.87

Product: The Sims 4 Platform:PC Which language are you playing the game in?English How often does the bug occur?Every time (100%) What is your current game version number?1.103.315.1020 What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All packs (except Growing Together, My Wedding Stories, Jouney to Batuu, Home Chef Hustle, Tiny Living, Perfect Patio). And Simstimates Collection is the only kit that I currently own. Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves?Sorry not sure; this bug seemed to come out of nowhere from my perspective. What happens when the bug occurs?I can change the lot type of Ro Kara Rockside in build mode, but the lot somehow still is treated as a Residential Rental in live mode, and the icon for Residential Rental still shows up in Manage Worlds when holding the cursor over the lot. I am also unable to place any other lot from the Gallery on that lot, unless it's a Residential Rental lot. What do you expect to see?I can change the lot type in build mode, and that lot type correctly shows up in manage worlds when holding the cursor over the lot. Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them. Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system?Neutral/Not Sure
Okay, so I've ran into quite an annoying bug today that affected my main save: The game seems confused on what the lot type of the Ro Kaya Rockside lot in Tomarang is, so this is similar as to what some people have experienced: I can't seem to change the lot type. However, I can change the lot type in build mode just fine, and the name of the new lot type does show up when I hold my cursor over the lot in manage worlds. But whenever I go back to manage worlds, then the icon still shows up as Residential Rental on a mouse-over, and the game still seems to treat it as such in live mode: I can't seem to place anything from the Gallery (other than Residential Rental lots) on that lot, and my Sims can only buy it as such (regardless as what lot type I set it to in build mode) in live mode.
I've already tried a few workarounds for this bug, but sadly to no avail: I've tried changing the lot type to Retail, having a Sim buy and sell the lot, and bulldozing and placing something from the Gallery. But sadly enough, the lot type is still locked; whenever it's time to place something from the Gallery, the game somehow refuses to allow me to do that (all I can place are Residential Rentals). So I tried placing a Gallery copy of an un-glitched Residential Rental work in progress build of mine on Ro Kaya Rockside to see if that would maybe allow me to change the lot type after bulldozing that one; this also didn't help. I'm not exactly sure how I managed to lock that particular lot THIS badly: is there anything else I can do to save this lot?
And for the sake of clarity, I've included some screenshots of what I'm seeing in-game.
And for the sake of completeness here: I have mods turned off in-game, and there are no mods files in my Sims 4 mods folder. I also tried repairing the game, and I have the latest patch installed. And in my attempts to solve this bug, I also have the original lot and the save in question currently backed up (the original lot was saved to my Gallery, since one of the solutions involved bulldozing the lot: it somehow saved as a regular Residential). I sadly don't have a seperate pre-bug version of the affected save to roll back to, though. The original lot type of Ro Kaya Rockside is Residential, but I switched that lot back and forth to Residential Rental often while working on the lot before the bug happened. And before it got bugged, sucessfully switched between those two lot types multiple times pre-bug.
@MelanieScribbles I personally would not trust that save, because the lot is corrupted and in my game the corrupted lot kept throwing errors until the save became unplayable. Besides some general wonkiness, the thing that convinced me my save was corrupted was when I paused the game and the regular resume button no longer worked. I had to hit pause twice to resume playing. From there it just got worse and became unplayable. So if that happens to you, the save is toast.
Thank you for adding what you did to try to get the lot to work. I have tried several things as well, which I enumerated earlier in this thread. One thing we all have in common is not being able to find a solution. This is a really bad situation, and I fully expect more and more people will run into it. For me it was a game breaker.
If you want to try to keep the save, then my advice would be to place a Residential Rental build on that lot, and then leave it that way. Don't play it, but get the game to recognize it as a genuine Residential Rental Lot. The reason I advise that course of action is because most of the errors thrown in my game were about the rental manager not being able to find what it needed to locate, if the lot was in some state other than fully Residential Rental. So it may help to let the rental manager find what it is looking for, while we wait for EA to fix this untenable situation. No guarantees, but that is my best bet.
@amjoie I saw your experiences with this bug; thanks for posting your story, because I definitely took it as a warning. Thank you so much, because you have definitely rescued my main save from complete obliteration: I actually still have the lot set to Retail right now, so I'll just go change that real quick. I wouldn't dare play it to begin with if it's THIS broken: Heck, I couldn't even select rooms in the build at one point in build mode! Not sure how I even fixed that, but I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth. I don't even want to know what could happen if I'd load a rental in live mode. Just saying; I've been darned lucky so far compared to some other folks (not even an error report in sight so far), so I'm not going to be tempting fate until that bug is fixed. I've started a new save because the bug bummed me out so much, but I do have a recent backup of that bugged save for anyone that wants to take a crack at this incredibly nasty bug.
