OK, so here's a weird one. Apparently (according to the support on the Deaderpool server who looked at my MC Exception report) this issue is somehow related to this topic, since I got directed to leave a "Me Too" here, but heck if I can figure out how....
On a new save that was a "Save As" of Srsly's Blank Save, when I first log into the save and bring a sim to a lot to build in, I get an exception message. It doesn't implicate any broken mods or CC, but it has the following info:
- Last Module Called: persistence_service.py
- Last Function Called: get_house_description_id
- Error message: [manus] business_service failed to handle zone load due to exception (AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'lot_template_id'), CategoryID: persistence_service:676
And digging deeper, the error report keeps referencing things like :
- File 'T:\InGame\Gameplay\Scripts\Server\business\business_service.py', line 543, in on_zone_load [ self : business_service, tracker : <business.business_tracker.BusinessTracker object at 0x00007FF4822B4D90>]
- File 'T:\InGame\Gameplay\Scripts\Server\business\business_tracker.py', line 199, in on_zone_load [ business_manager : <multi_unit.rental_unit_manager.RentalUnitManager object at 0x00007FF46F31FC90>, self : <business.business_tracker.BusinessTracker object at 0x00007FF4822B4D90>]
- File 'T:\InGame\Gameplay\Scripts\Server\multi_unit\rental_unit_manager.py', line 238, in on_zone_load [ self : <multi_unit.rental_unit_manager.RentalUnitManager object at 0x00007FF46F31FC90>, __class__ : <class 'multi_unit.rental_unit_manager.RentalUnitManager'>]
- File 'T:\InGame\Gameplay\Scripts\Server\multi_unit\rental_unit_manager.py', line 173, in house_description_id [ self : <multi_unit.rental_unit_manager.RentalUnitManager object at 0x00007FF46F31FC90>]
- File 'T:\InGame\Gameplay\Scripts\Server\services\persistence_service.py', line 676, in get_house_description_id [ self : persistence_service, zone_id : 1006011326887821835]
So I get why I got sent here, even though 1) I am working on a residential lot that has never been a rental residential (unless the save file I copied this one from originally had this assigned as a rental residential lot), and 2) I have not changed this to a residential lot from any other lot type. Like, I literally did a Save As of this blank (all lots emptied) save file so I could keep the original one as a template, landed the test sim that came with the save onto a blank Windenburg lot, and the error popped up. It only pops up once upon opening the save, and I have been doing practice building in the world and saving it successfully, but each time I reopen that save, I get the error message again. It has been several weeks since I have done anything with rental residential lots, ever since two previous saves got corrupted by them, so I don't think I have somehow accidentally brought the glitch over to the new save, especially since I have been playing in another save up until three days ago and everything seems to be fine in that one. So I am honestly baffled as to why my game seems to have an error related to residential rentals that I don't think even exist in this save? (Unless maybe Tomarang is still intact in this save file. I don't recall checking before I did the Save As since I started this save specifically to build in Windenburg.)
Please, please, please tell me this is one of those issues that's in the queue to get fixed in the upcoming update, because I swear this expansion pack is buggier than a roach motel!
