What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Get Famous, Get to Work, Seasons, Strangerville, Jungle Adventure, Parenthood, Dine Out, Vampires, Romantic Garden Stuff, Spa Day, Cool Kitchen Stuff and all the free packs (music, holiday etc.)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Give the sim a freelance career (any) and choose a gig. Leave the lot. Try to accomplish any of the tasks when you get to a computer/art tablet (any - even on home lot). Also, have your sim participate in any event off the current lot e.g. plan a wedding/ party. Give your sim a resolution and then travel off the lot.
What happens when the bug occurs? Tasks won't check off no matter how many times the task is completed. Sim will not be able to participate in any scheduled event (e.g. a wedding) off the current lot. The message is that the sim cannot participate in this event/ is not the host of the event. Completing the resolution task does not complete the resolution.
What do you expect to see? Tasks should be checked off when they are completed. Sims should be able to participate in all events anywhere in the world. The resolution task should complete if the requirement is met regardless of where it happens.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure
A sim with a freelancer career is bound to their lot and I am bound to the tasks (I have to finish them before I leave the lot or game or the sim will not be able to check off any of the tasks.) Any event planned by my sim but happening on another lot is "broken". My sim is unable to participate in it or check off the related tasks e.g. a wedding. The same goes for setting new year's resolutions. As soon as I travel, I can't get the task to complete even if I complete it elsewhere e.g. getting a girl/boyfriend on another lot. Repairing the game from Origin does not change this. I realised both bugs at the same time and since they seem to both be related to me leaving the game or my sim leaving their lot with the same result; failure to check off tasks on events/freelancer career, I put them together. Please help/advise.
