@keekee53 Unfortunately, in my experience, deleting the empty households with MCCC doesn't solve the problem anyway. I mean, it gets rid of all the empty households in the household manager, but the save file remains bloated even if no more empty households generate (mine continually skyrockets back up to 60000kb no matter what I do). A few people said that moving out of the 50x40 lots in Henford helped the lag, but it didn't do anything for me personally, and there are people in the thread who encountered this bug without ever touching the 50x40 Henford lots.
So far the only solution I've found is to start a completely new save, which sucks, because it means my main save file I've been playing for years is basically unplayable now. :/ (It's my own fault for not backing up my saves before downloading Cottage Living, but still. Disappointing.) Best case scenario, you can save whatever households/lots you want to your library (assuming they aren't already saved there) so you can import them into a new save - but depending on how bad the lag is (and if you're also experiencing game crashes) that might be hard to pull off. And that doesn't transfer inventories, relationships, family trees (outside the household at least), etc., so you do lose a lot of data in the process either way.
Unless EA is able to not only fix the empty household generation issue, but also find a way to let us reverse the save bloat? I don't know if it's possible to rehabilitate a bugged save once it's been bloated by this particular glitch. And since we haven't heard anything from EA except for a request upthread for saves, I figure the only option for now is to just... play a new save if I want to play at all. Hopefully it'll get fixed at some point, but I'm not holding out hope that it'll be anytime soon. I hope EA at least acknowledges it soon.
