I experienced this bug today and it is not consistent.
- No mods or CC, have never used
- Completely fresh install of the game, did not have it installed at all for a while and came back to try Growing Together
- Brand new save with a new family, family created in CAS with the infant created in CAS using the play with genetics option
Background:
I always maintain 3 saves for a playthrough just to have backups. I rotated to another family in the game to kind of set up a little story between them and my original family that was created in CAS. Original family consists of 2 young adults and 1 infant. The other family was created by the game and I added it to my played households. Before rotating to the other family, I had never left my created Sims lot and experienced no issues in a couple of days of playing.
Findings:
- After rotating families, my newest save always has the milestones reset for my original family when I load the save.
- My next save (previous one) sometimes has the milestone reset bug and other times doesn't whenever I load it. It seems inconsistent.
- However, I have been getting the "Item Removed" pop up in game sometimes. Unsure why as I have never used any mods and never had this message at any point before in the years I have played this game. I do not notice any missing items. I am playing on an empty lot that I built my home on from scratch and didn't even use cheats for decorating. As stated before, this is a brand new game that was created on 04/06/2023 on a fresh install with Growing Together already installed.
- I have noticed in the times I have loaded various saves that the milestone bug does not occur when I get the "Item Removed" pop up (which is also not consistent and does not happen each time I load the same save game), but if it doesn't then the bug occurs.
That's what I found after a few back and forths of loading saves. Hope that helps the devs narrow down a cause.
